Post Craziness
My weekend really has gone like that. I just love tight schedules like that, don’t you?
First I must apologize for this one being a little late. My internet connection at the new apartment just got turned on. Which has annoyed me no end.
Now that everyone has returned to Blacksburg, thing are truly set back to “normal.” Not that being separated for the better part of a year has failed to do anything, but at least the crew is once more within walking distance. It’s good to be back, but also somewhat odd. It’s almost like returning to a place in your life that you’ve left behind, but not quite, because you were never really done with it. It is a most peculiar feeling.
Otakon was fantastic. I can’t say whether Fred dressed up in his cat suit again this year or not, as I only saw him in passing while he was busily signing things for a perpetually increasing line of fans. I don’t know when that man sleeps. However, I know that Hawk was NOT in his OS Tiger Costume. But the image is pretty damn funny, and about accurate when it comes to the level of random silliness that happened this weekend. Of course we ran into all those other fine folks, Paradox Lost, Mine's Bigger!, VG Cats, Chugworth Academy, 8-Bit Theater, Instant Classic, Dominic Deegan, and MacHall. Oh, and the guys from Surliness showed up to. We also met Xero, the blue haired man behind Konsekai Swordwaltzer who is a very funny guy. I also bumped into the guys behind Chisuji, which I've been trying to figure out how to pronounce for months now. I even bumped into the Alpha-Shade which was a nice surprise. We also got to talk with Rob Balder the comedity genius behind PartiallyClips, which is a hillarious comic. I had no idea that clip art could be so useful.
And despite a plethora of badly aimed rubber band shots between the lot of us, we also met a lot of really cool fans. The coolest we met was Dustin who not only hung out with us and was entertaining in general, but he was also our first cosplayer. It was pretty cool to see the Inner Cool Guy walk around. There were of course many, many more, most of whose names I failed to catch properly, because I have the dexterity of a narcoleptic cat. But it was really cool to met all of you.
I now have to go figure out my schedule and make sure I have all the classes I need to have. And I need to finish unpacking. There are some nice close-ups behind the vote buttons, you guys know what to do. And next week I expect to return to [insert dramatic drum beat] the superhero arc, because that story isn’t over yet.
Welcome to the Comedity. Don't step on the Penguin.
