Talk like a Pirate, Matey

Aye, incase ye didn't know, it's Talk Like a Pirate day. Arrr. For obvious reasons many people I know, including most of the students in my design lab love this festive day. So, if there be presentations ta day, then there shall be some might interestin' reports.

In other news I bring you something geeky, something design-ish, and probably something you've heard a lot about already: The controller for the Nintendo Revolution. Whether you like it or not, you have to give Nintendo credit for being different. The potential for their design is staggering, I think. The thing I've hated about game consoles for the longest time are those bloody analog sticks. My thumbs don't think right for looking around type functions, and considering my preference of game style, look and movement are key. But now, it's a point and click, like ... a mouse. If the software makes proper and full use of the control set up I think the Revolution could actually make first person shooters not suck on a console. It'd be a first in my book. And so I look forward to seeing what can be done with the Revolution's little controller. This makes the 3rd new console control that is white, which seems to make white the official "cool gadget" color. Thank you Steve.

Welcome to the Comedity. Don't step on the Penguin.
